You're feeling a bit stuck right now and and confused about your options and how to get started on your career journey.  I can help, so that you can beat the frustrations and position yourself against those with more experience, to achieve career success and satisfaction.  I have spent over 15 years supporting people through their career journeys, both in the career guidance and coaching sector, but also as a learning and development professional in HR teams.  I have also been in leadership positions and a hiring manager myself many times and know what employers are looking for when it comes to recruitment.

As well as all my professional experience, I have a wealth of credentials including diplomas in Career Guidance & Development (OCR), Career Coaching (Oxford Learning) and the Certificate of Coaching and Mentoring (ILM, accredited by the EMCC - European Mentoring & Coaching Council), as well as the Level 5 diploma in Learning and Development (CIPD).  I am also a licensed practitioner for Myers Briggs (MBTI) and Thomas International PPA (DISC theory) and TEIQ (Trait Emotional Intelligence Indicator) and am a professional member of the CDI (Career Development Institute) and the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel Development).

My work has been used as an example of best practice by the NfER (National Federation for Educational Research) and have been a finalist for the national Career Champion Award.   I have a full DBS check (children and adults) and signed up to the online checking service.

HOW I SUPPORT PEOPLE EARLY IN THEIR CAREER

Helping you decide on, get into, and thrive in your early career

After years of studying and with a desire to make a difference to the world, you’re looking for your first career opportunity.  But you’re probably worried about finding that elusive fist role, you want it to be a good one but you’re not sure where to start or if employers will give you a chance, since they want skills and experience as well as the qualifications you’ve worked so hard for.

I remember how difficult this transition was (and the jobs market was a lot less tough at the time), not knowing where to start with job hunting and applications, or what I even wanted to do for a career.  Anxiety over not finding work can be very real, as well as feeling like you’re being passed over for others with more experience, or challenges in how to build confidence to thrive in the workplace.

SO, HOW DO I HELP?

I can assist you in this challenging time, moving you from anxious over recruitment to achieving success in a new, exciting role.  Whether you’re looking at graduate programmes or any other role in the workplace, I can support you with smashing it through applications, assessment centres and the all important individual interview.

But starting work is a bit like learning to drive, it’s once you pass your test that you really start learning.  Through working with me, you can learn all about building your confidence, collaborating with others and what job descriptions, culture and company values, all really mean.  These programmes also give you the chance to join a supportive tribe of fellow first time workers, through a closed support group online.

Whichever way you opt to work with me, I can take you from being confused about expectations in the job market and workplace, to confidently taking your own place in the world of work, thriving and adding value.

HOW I SUPPORT STUDENTS

IAN, VERIZON, READING

Caroline worked with me when I was applying for Universities and considering career path options. She is extremely well connected in her field and has an in depth understanding of not only how to pick the right University for you but also how to navigate the complicated UCAS application process. Her naturally calm and reassuring style encouraged me to have scary but honest conversations with her, supporting me to make tough decisions. Without a shadow of a doubt, I would not be where I am today without Caroline's support.

NIAMH, SENIOR CONSULTANT AT EARNST YOUNG, LONDON

Caroline assisted my daughter during her UCAS application and the advice, knowledge and expertise given helped her gain 5 university offers. Caroline continued to support her when it came to making her 1st and 2nd choices and we were delighted when her A level results secured her first choice of Exeter University. In fact, Caroline was the first person I called to tell her our news! I cannot recommend Caroline enough, in fact so much, my daughter has now approached her to help with her next personal statement for her Masters application at Oxford University. Caroline, you are amazing,

thank you!

I was very lost after leaving University but Caroline was so helpful in helping me understand the jobs market and how to get into it.  I am thrilled to have secured a new role and I hope to join her Talent Transformation Programme soon.  My employer is very keen for me to do this and I think it will help with future jobs too.

HOW I SUPPORT STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS

Supporting you with making the right decisions now, for your future career.

HOW I SUPPORT STUDENTS

From year 7 through to year 13, there is going to be a lot expected of you.  Not only are you going to have to work incredibly hard to achieve the best grades you possibly can, you’re also going to need to start planning what happens after education and how you can develop the skills you will need.

That can be very overwhelming and daunting, it can feel like you have to plan out your whole life (which you don’t) or you might be struggling with particular aspects of moving forward, such as writing a winning personal statement for your university application.

HOW I SUPPORT PARENTS

As a parent of a young person, you want to help but are probably tearing your hair out trying to figure out how.  You want to support your child but like me, it may have been a while since you took your first steps into Further or Higher Education and the workplace beyond.   And that marketplace has changed since then.  A lot.

I spend a lot of time keeping up to date with admissions and recruitment practices so that I can support the young people in my care with the most up to date information with which they can base their decisions on.  I also provide support if they're feeling stuck, unsure of what they want to do or not feeling confident in their own skills and abilities.   Not being part of that school environment or a member of the family, means a clean slate with which we can have open and honest conversations about their hopes and dreams and how to plan a practical and realistic plan to get there, whether their future involes an apprenticeship or university pathway.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO NEXT

However you'd like me to support you, the best first step is to get in touch.  I can answer any questions you may have and we can even have a completely free of charge, no obligation, chat, so you can find out a bit more about me and how I can help.

So what are you waiting for?  Let's get you started on that career you've been dreaming of.
