Do you feel like you are running out of time to achieve your career goals before the end of the year?

You’re not the only one.

Many clients I speak to are feeling the pressure right now to deliver on their career plans, but they’re feeling nervous and overwhelmed about that, especially with the looming recession.

So, what can you do to take the pressure off and help you end the year strong when it comes to your career goals?

Don’t let the worst enemy be between your two ears – are you not progressing because you’re telling yourself ‘facts’ which by the may, might not even be true? Can’t make a career change in this market, too old or too inexperienced to move or get promoted, you can’t possibly admit to making a mistake and change university course.  Ask yourself what evidence you actually have of this.

Adjust your plan if necessary – maybe you’ve tested the ‘evidence’ and actually making a huge career leap in this climate is too risky at the moment.  So what smaller steps can you take in the meantime to move towards your goal? Maybe it’s a less dramatic career change, or learning a new skill or gaining a new qualification so you’ll be able to hit the ground running when the time comes.  Career change or development is very often not about a one time huge leap, but about taking small steps to get you to where you want to be.

Remember that anything can happen – Why? Because the game isn’t over yet. You still have time to make any changes, twists and pivots to make goals happen.

But if you’re feeling like with the short time left you need something to speed up your goal setting and achieving your plans then why not book some coaching with me? For the equivalent investment of a new Christmas outfit, you could turn your life around and head into the New Year with a new plan ready to live your best life in 2023.
